Rio Bedroom Set

It means the RIO isn’t upholstered in one fabric. Different velvet treatments — smooth, finely fluted, and figured — are used on different parts of the design and set directly against one another. The result is a bed that reads as layered and textured despite being almost entirely one colour, which is much harder to achieve than simply adding contrast.

The RIO is available in King and Queen, and the mattress is not included — keep your own or buy separately.

LEDs are built into the headboard panels, giving a soft ambient glow rather than task light — enough to move around by at night, and enough to make the bed the focal point of a dark room.

136″ in King and 120″ in Queen — considerably wider than the mattress, because the headboard is designed as a full framed panel with the nightstands sitting inside its span. The bench is the long upholstered seat for the foot of the bed — for sitting to dress or laying out clothes. The puff is the smaller stool that tucks under the dresser and pulls out when you’re at the mirror. Both are included in every set.

Bedroom sets are harder to manoeuvre than sofas, because tall pieces have to be tilted upright once inside — and the RIO headboard is 71″ high with the dresser mirror at 77″. Measure your narrowest doorway, your stairwell turn, and your bedroom ceiling height, then send us the numbers on WhatsApp. We’ll tell you honestly whether it will work before you order.

For GTA deliveries our own team assembles the full set in the room, connects the headboard lighting, positions each piece, and takes all the packaging away with them. Sets shipped outside the GTA arrive flat-packed and require assembly on arrival.

Vacuum with a soft brush attachment, running along the fluted channels rather than across them — ribbed panels collect dust in the grooves. Brush the smooth velvet in one direction to keep the pile even. Blot marks with a clean, barely damp cloth, pressing rather than rubbing. Keep the set out of long hours of direct sunlight, and dust the gold trim and engraved mirror with a dry cloth only.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the frames, carcasses, drawer runners, hardware and the LED components. Normal wear, velvet pile movement, surface marks, or damage from misuse are not covered.
